Digitalisย purpureaย f.ย albiflora
Height x Spread: 120cm x 30cm
Commonly known as the white foxglove, this elegant plant produces willowy spires of pure white thimble-like flowers that hang to one side. ย Its foliage is soft and hairy with the stems rising from basal rosettes.
Much beloved and used by Gertrude Jekyll in her white garden planting schemes, it is a fantastic plant for illuminating, lightening and weaving through borders. ย As you would expect it works equally well in dappled woodland settings. ย Beneficial insects especially the bees are crazy about them. This Digitalis thrives in a rich soil in part shade, but can tolerate more sun.ย ย
All parts are poisonous.
