Sturdy flower spikes bear stunning, scented, rose-pink blooms each with a white standard or flag, during early summer. Palmate, light green leaves cover the flower stems.
Coastal locations, cottage gardens, flower beds and borders are perfect for this sumptuous bloomer. It will thrive in full sun and a rich, fertile moist but well-drained soil. Lupins perform best in soils with a neutral to slightly acid pH. Deadhead the flower spikes as they fade and you may well get a second flush of flower.
