Verbascum (Cotswold Group) ‘Gainsborough’

In summer V. ‘Gainsborough’ produces elegant spires of sublime lemon yellow flowers with orange stamens, which rise from a basal rosette of soft hirsute grey-green leaves.
Full sun and well-drained soils are the requirements for this classy bloomer. It thrives in exposed conditions such as coastal areas. When the flower spikes start to fade remove them to the base of the plant to encourage a second flush of flower. Support may be needed in very exposed areas.
